WORLD TAVERN 2021 UPDATES

Wow, what a crazy year it has been, and before we get to the updates, we wanted to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you. We know it’s been a challenge out there and we truly appreciate all of our Bar Owners, Tournament Directors, and Players for more than 15 years of incredible support. We are incredibly grateful!
We certainly hope that we are ‘over the hump’ of this virus with the vaccine coming out – and excited to get back to full time playing by the summer time. That said, we have to make changes and decisions based on where we are today - so we appreciate your understanding.
WTP ONLINE SCORING
1st Quarter (Feb thru Apr): Online points will continue to count for regular National Rankings.
2nd Quarter (May thru July): We will introduce separate leaderboards, both with paths to the National Championships and TOC.
3rd Quarter (Aug thru Oct): We will introduce a Combined Leaderboard as well. This will take points from your Online and Live scores and combine them for a new combined ranking.
NOTE: This schedule is based on states and venues continuing to open and get more comfortable with playing live. We will adjust if and when necessary!
MONTHLY LIVE PROMOTIONS
As venues continue to come back, we will be bringing back or introducing a lot more exciting Special Promotions to add some additional fun! Be on the lookout! 😊
REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Due to the continued limitations across the country, we have made the decision NOT to host any live Regional Championships for this season. But…
We will be introducing the SUPER REGIONAL ONLINE CHAMPIONSHIPS!
We still want to reward those that have been ranked playing Live in the bar. This new Super online event will allow everyone who has qualified to participate with great prizes! More details will be coming soon.
WTP OPEN at MOHEGAN SUN
With the restrictions and capacity issues, it is simply not feasible to host a World Tavern Poker OPEN at this time. Trust me when we say it hurts us more than anyone. We so want to get back to normal and come together as the Biggest Poker Family in the country!
That said, if you have qualified for this event, we will continue to allow you to push that qualification forward.
WLPC in LAS VEGAS
This is the exciting news!
We are very excited to plan the BIGGEST AND BADDEST World League Poker Championship of all time! By the fall we are all going to be ready for a party, and there’s no better place than Las Vegas!
